Chistmas time ... Family time ... Bonding time...

I just simply cannot get enough of the Christmas season festivities, there is so much you can do and want to do. Decorate your home, prepare some cool stuff for kids and family, buy some interesting but useful gifts for the family its just never ending but who's complaining. I just love this part of the year.
I have been living in Bandra for now more than 3 decades and this time of the year holds a very special place in my heart, the beautiful stars lit outside homes, the Christmas carols I can hear and the delicious aroma of freshly baked cookies, marzipan sweets, cakes just drive me into the world of celebrating the festival.
I do make some simple stuff that my kids and neighbours love, well its not exactly the most wanted item of the season, but its a sure shot success recipe that I have been making for years and the recipe has never let me down.
So here for all those who have a sweet tooth and have forgotten about calories for the week ahead...
100 gms Marie biscuits
100 gms castor Sugar
100 gms unsalted butter
100 gms drinking chocolate
2 eggs
75 - 100 gms nuts (Almonds, walnut, pine nuts, cashew etc)
Grind the biscuits, sugar to a fine powder, add the drinking chocolate powder keep aside.

Beat the egg whites till the are stiff, add the yolks and beat along for a couple of minutes.

Melt the butter over a slow flame, add the same to the dry ingredients. Now add the beaten eggs and fold the mixture slowly, till it forms a nice dough.

Now add the nuts that you like and mix slowly.
put the mixture in a plate and refrigerate it for about 90 mins.

Once the fudge has set, cut it into desired shapes and wrap them in chocolate paper or cellophene paper. Tie it with ribbons, set them in a basket and share it with your friends.

Non baked classic chocolate fudge is ready to eat and share the joys of the festival season...
